Community Development Intensive

  • Old Sacramento, CA
  • TBD
For over 35 years, the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) has been implementing its "grass-roots" process in communities around the world, resulting in long-term, locally motivated change. We have discovered that the key to community development lies in people working together to meet the changing social and economic needs of the community. The Community Development Intensive is a six-day workshop which establishes the context of community development as a whole-system change.

Sacramento Professional Facilitators are looking for a city, community or neighborhood that would like to involve business and residents in creating their strategic plan during this course. Facilitators will be provided to lead stakeholder and planning sessions for up to 350 local participants. Six training slots will be allocated to local participants as well so that they will be able to lead the plan implementation. If you are interested in having citizen participation in designing a strategic direction for your community, please contact Bill Davis at (916) 806-6407, or Heidi Kolbe (916) 442-0371.
