What people are saying about the circle of life process

Coaching and group support have been shown to be the best tools to enhance outcomes in diverse populations. The Circle of Life is more comprehensive and holistic than most other coaching and support programs. Our feedback is that people feel it is more unique and inspiring – creating easier access to behavioral change, achieved goals, and positive outcomes. Rebecca McLean & Dr. Roger Janke, Developers of the Circle of Life process.

  • "The 'Circle' is so effective because inherent in the process is support for envisioning and achieving goals. I have witnessed group members make monumental changes in their lives that they had previously thought impossible." Wellness Coordinator
  • "We are all looking for transformation... (the circle of life process) has shown us the way one step, one goal, one action step at a time." Pastor
  • "I learned how important accountability to ourselves is in being responsible for our own behaviors." Participant, Parish Coordinator
  • "I learned to travel long distances by taking small steps." Episcopal Priest

Using the circle of life process as a tool to improve health

Healthy People 2010, the US Department of Health and Human Services set of health goals for the nation for the first decade of this century, has two primary objectives:

  • Enhance life expectancy and quality of life
  • Eliminate health disparities, across diverse population

Healthy People 2010 challenges all of us – professionals, communities, and individuals, to take specific steps to ensure, that good health and long life are enjoyed by all. We can personally awaken the naturally occurring medicine within ourselves to maximize good health, and eliminate wasted medical expenses. We can also make empowering steps to ensure organizational effectiveness, harmony and accountability.

Meeting the Challenge

Many of the focus areas of Healthy People 2010, such as heart disease and stroke, diabetes, educational and community based programs, and injury and violence prevention can be addressed by the educational and self-management methodology (intervention) of the Circle of Life. The Circle of Life and its powerful tool box of methods and processes encourages self-reliance in managing health, healing, chronic health challenges, and can help prevent disease and maximize performance and productivity through lifestyle choices, behavioral changes, and understanding existing health services.

These empowerment tools have been carefully refined for an array of clients including hospitals and hospital networks, educational institution, faith communities, and community agencies. We believe that everyone has the capacity to improve their health, complement their medical treatment and reduce their medical costs.
